Bill Avellone
Bill Avellone has over twenty-five years of board level management experience, serving as CEO, President, and chief operating officer of various companies. He has provided management consulting, M&A, due diligence and turnaround services to private equity groups and more than fifty Fortune 500 companies, other private companies, plus the World Bank and the governments of the United States, Romania, and Japan. He has extensive experience with acquisitions, interim management and negotiating and closing restructuring deals including: divestitures, financings, workouts and turnarounds.
As an engineering graduate, Bill began his career in a troubled division of Abbott Laboratories. After working on a successful turnaround team to reverse the losses, he joined a large international management consulting firm and for ten years acquired broad international experience with operations improvement, interim management, and mergers and acquisitions of both large and small businesses. In 1985 he formed Chartered Management Co., Inc. in Chicago to provide management consulting, acquisition, interim management, financial restructuring, and turnaround services to private equity groups and corporations.
Mr. Avellone has been responsible for numerous successful acquisitions, restructurings, workouts, and turnarounds of companies, plus operations improvements, cost reduction, organization restructuring and consolidations in the United States and abroad. He has worked in China, India, Canada, Mexico, England, France, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Slovakia, Turkey, and Romania. His industry experience includes plastic and metal products, health care, industrial computers/electronics, automotive products, industrial and consumer electronics, aerospace and military hardware, recreational and consumer goods, and financial services. His functional background encompasses all phases of business operations, including marketing, sales, operations, startup of international business, finance, restructuring, consolidations, relocation and design of new manufacturing facilities.
Mr. Avellone earned an MBA and B.S. in Engineering from the University of Illinois. He has frequently spoken to professional groups, including the American Management Association, American Institute of Industrial Engineers, and Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and has addressed numerous groups of senior managers of Fortune 100 companies.
